New Zealand
as a Study

New Zealand has so much to offer your students.

New Zealanders are friendly and welcoming towards international students, making it the ideal environment for studying English.

Students from all around the world choose New Zealand to experience something new while they study.

It’s also safe and easy to travel around our beautiful country, so students have the opportunity to see a new country while studying abroad. Students can enjoy summer or winter activities, as well as arts and culture.

We have world class high schools, colleges, institutes of technology and universities if students want to continue studying in New Zealand. English is our first language so students get to practise English outside the classroom in everyday situations.

Students come to New Zealand to:

Study English and travel:

  • Tourism is a very big attraction - we’re a small, safe and peaceful country (4.3m people) but we’re known for our great outdoors, adventure, cultural activities, and friendly welcoming people.
  • Students can enjoy summer sports and activities or winter activities depending on when they study and their interests.  There are also a lot of great cultural activities and experiences too. Here are a few of the great activities your students can try while they study in New Zealand.

Study English and work:

  • English language students can work up to 20 hours per week during their course if they study with an NZQA Category 1 provider.
  • Working Holiday Visa holders can also study a short course of English as part of their time in New Zealand

Study English then study some more:

  • English language courses and exams will help students to prepare for further study at a variety of educational institutions.
  • Many English New Zealand schools have pathway agreements with high schools, colleges, institutes of technology and universities.
