Education New Zealand markets New Zealand as an education destination to international students. 

The English language sector contributes significantly to the tourism industry in New Zealand and English New Zealand is a TIA member.

English New Zealand attends quarterly operations and strategic group meetings, and engages with senior representatives from Immigration NZ both onshore and overseas.


The New Zealand Qualifications Authority ensures that New Zealand qualifications are valued as credible and robust, both nationally and internationally.

Global Associations

English New Zealand is a member of GAELA (the Global Alliance of Education and Language Associations). The member associations and other related bodies meet at least once a year to discuss matters of common interest and to further a global dialogue.

The Quality Assurance in Language Education Network was formed by quality assurance and accreditation agencies in the English and other languages sector in 2011.  English New Zealand is a founding member and supports collaboration to ensure global benchmarking of quality within the industry.

Industry Partners

Cambridge English and English New Zealand have a formal MoU. This covers support for English New Zealand professional development, profiling of Cambridge products, achieving greater recognition of Cambridge English exams by Government and industry groups, and some joint marketing and promotional activities.

Uni-Care NZ is a long established provider of insurance to international students. Uni-Care has supported English New Zealand’s advocacy efforts for many years.

YHA New Zealand

YHA New Zealand provides a range of accommodation options for backpackers, independent travellers and groups on a budget.  YHA members  save 10% on their accommodation costs.
