In Languages International’s beautiful historic buildings in central Auckland’s Albert Park, all classrooms have views out to the park. Between classes, students relax outdoors or in the spacious Student Lounge. The facility that really sets Languages International apart is the Learning Centre: in this purpose-designed facility, students are engaged in guided independent learning, using a wide range of human, electronic and paper resources and activities to make progress towards their individual language-learning goals. Our teachers help students to make a learning plan and are then on hand to proactively help them follow it.
Courses available at Languages International
Languages International offers General English at up to 8 levels, English for University featuring the English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment (APA), preparation courses for IELTS, OET and Cambridge exams, English for Business and flexible Executive courses. A key feature of all our English courses is the strong emphasis on independent learning, to help students develop learning habits that will enable them to keep learning long after their Languages International course has finished. Our Teacher Education centre delivers Cambridge CELTA and DELTA courses, while the Literacy Professionals at Languages International provide English-language teaching and support for NZ businesses.
The style of teaching and classroom environment
Languages International’s small classes (maximum 14 students) and highly communicative teaching style help students achieve their language-learning goals as well as enjoy their experience in NZ. Our talented teachers have a relaxed and friendly style, making sure that each student gets guidance both in class and in regular individual counselling sessions. Our academic staff are among the most experienced English language professionals in NZ, with a substantial list of published books to their credit.
Accommodation options for international students
Our accommodation options include homestay and a choice of student residences in the central city. We recommend homestay as the best way to experience the NZ way of life and to practise the language you learn at school during the day. Homestay includes dinner, bed and breakfast on weekdays and full board at weekends.

Languages International’s central-city location makes it a great place for international students to start exploring Auckland. Being in the university quarter of the city means that there are lots of other students in the area, and our students have convenient access to the shops, cafes and other services in and around the universities. We’re just 5 minutes’ walk from Queen Street, the shopping and entertainment heart of Auckland City, which runs down to the harbour’s edge. Beaches, parks and Auckland’s famous volcanic cones are also just a walk or short bus ride away.
