About English New Zealand

The ultimate learning experience

English New Zealand, incorporating FIELSNZ (Federation of Independent English Language Schools of New Zealand) was established in 1986.

English New Zealand is the voice for both private and state sector English language schools in New Zealand and members are located throughout New Zealand.

Member schools offer quality English language tuition, teacher training (TESOL) and pathways into universities, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions in New Zealand.

Quality

English New Zealand jealously guards its reputation for quality. All member schools are approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and are signatories to the New Zealand Ministry of Education Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.

In addition, member schools must meet the rigorous English New Zealand Standards. These standards (originally developed by Elaine Brewster of Rotorua English Language Academy) assess schools using both academic and management criteria specific to the English language industry.

Activities

English New Zealand holds agents workshops overseas each year in Japan, Taiwan Korea, Saudi Arabia, Colombia, Brazil, French Polynesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Member schools value highly the loyalty and co-operation they receive from their partner agents.

Member Schools

English New Zealand has 27 full member schools located in 12 destinations throughout New Zealand.  View school profiles for further information.
